One Dress, Two Ways

Unknown

My Cute Photographer --->

I hope that you all had a festive holiday weekend! We traveled to Chicago f or a family wedding, and had a wonderful experience on a boat architecture tour. If you're ever in the city I definitely recommend it; truly beautiful and informative. We spent the rest of the time relaxing (and eating too much) with my in-laws. If only those types of weekends could last a bit longer!

This dress has been my favorite duo piece all summer long. It's lightweight, and easily transforms from a swimsuit cover-up to a fun dress to wear out. All I do is put a slip underneath of it when I want it to be a regular dress. This will be perfect for vacations to cut down on the packing list, because the Lord knows that I need all the help I can get in that area! Take a look into your closet and see what you can do to make a dress like this more versatile.

Jean Dress with Pops of Pink

Unknown

While driving through downtown, I admired this mural as it was being painted and promised to come back to view it in all of its glory. Well, what a work of art! I'm always amazed at all of the art to be found in my city. There will be future mural finding adventures with my awesome photographer and brother- that's for sure!

The color combination of blue and pink has always had a sweet spot in my heart. Actually, I just got a pair of sneakers in those colors that I posted on my Instagram (@theashleyciaccia). Maybe its because they resemble my favorite candy, cotton candy, or perhaps just because bright colors have the ability to make my outlook more positive. What are your favorite color combinations?

The Perfect Summer Dress

Unknown
Today, I'm sharing the perfect summer dress in bright yellow to replace the sun that seems to have gone missing here in South Florida. Not only has it been m.i.a for a few days now, but will continue to elude us for approximately 4 more days this week. Don't worry, I've just started the book "Me Before You" (who's seen the movie!?) Hopefully that, among other things, can keep me occupied inside on these dreary days.

Now, about this dress...I wore it twice over the weekend, which should tell you something! The material is cotton, so of course it's super comfortable and lightweight. I will warn you to size up, because it is a bit short; I'm 5'3 and wearing a size 6 for reference. Asos has this dress in multiple colors, which I will be ordering at least one more (especially at $25). I can't tell you how much I adore when a piece makes me feel this feminine and chic. Off-the-shoulder is nothing new, but it is a classic style that looks great. It has made a huge appearance this season, and I for one am glad.

"Amish Dress" + Pink heels

Unknown

I hope that you all had a wonderful memorial day week/weekend. It is super sad that it's already come to an end, because I loved every school-free moment. For me, the time off consisted of so many of my favorite things; fireworks, family, double dates, ice-cream, a beach day, naps, and a concert. Oh, to be on vacation forever, how sweet that would be. David (hubby) and I went to a concert on Wednesday to see one of my favorite bands, mewithoutYou.

I wore this fun dress that I refer to as my "Amish dress", haha. I can't help but call it that because of the simple design and style of it. My dad actually used to live with an Amish family and I loved that they made their own clothes! You'll never guess where I got this neat piece....Goodwill. Yep, it was probably over five years ago, but I used to shop at thrift stores more and found many good items. I love that it elongated my short frame and makes me feel dressed up but still casual. Obviously, I changed my shoes into some comfortable moccasins before going into the concert.

Have you found any pieces for a steal from thrift stores? Do Share them with me!

Bohemian Beach Getaway!

Unknown
Happy Ash Wednesday & here's to hoping your week is going well!  I started summer classes on Monday so my schedule is picking up again, but for the past two weeks I have been enjoying time off.  For the first part of vacation, my husband and I spent a few days with his parents at the Tradewinds Island Resort. Funny thing is, I used to work at the front desk before David and I ever met. We have stayed there a few times and it's always so much fun at the beach visiting with old co-workers and enjoying the grounds. They have multiple pools, restaurants, hammocks, and even a little paddle boat river that runs through the resort!

Here are a few photos of what I wore upon arrival. Comfort and breathability is key when it comes to  going to the beach and that's exactly what this dress and shoes afforded me. I felt a bit dressed up but was still to walk the property comfortably.

P.S- A fashion trend that always makes me feel super chic is matching my shoes with an accessory like a purse or belt, give it a try ;)

A White Graduation!

Unknown
Another Ash Wednesday (see what I did there?) is upon us! It's been a beautiful week thus far, completely due to myself and husband being on official vacation from school and work as of Monday. I was lucky enough to have my entire immediate family and my in-laws at my graduation ceremony and celebration. We ended up leaving the ceremony early because it was soooo long! P.F.Changs was calling to us, so we headed out and enjoyed the afternoon of food and family. I wore this adorable white dress for the occasion. It's actually the same one I wore to my bridal shower over a year and a half ago, so it also has sentimental value. In my opinion, light girly dresses are best for graduations so that they don't show through whatever your school color gown is and you don't get as hot. Plus, you can wear them again for a spring/summer date or special event. Windsor has so many cute options right now and I linked my favorites below!
